Terms governing the Normal waitlist

Version 1.0 · Effective [date]

Important. Normal is a self-help app in development. This page is a waitlist: joining is free and there is no app to use or buy yet. Normal is not a medical or therapeutic service and nothing here is medical advice.

1About these Terms

These Terms and Conditions (Terms) govern your use of the Normal waitlist, including its quiz, founding offer and related emails (the Waitlist). The Waitlist is operated by [operator legal name], [place of incorporation], with its registered office at the address shown above (Normal, we, us or our).

By joining the Waitlist, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not join.

2Definitions

App: the Normal app, which is in development and planned to launch in Autumn 2026.

Founding offer: the first month of the App free, for the first 1,000 people to join, as described below.

User: an individual who uses the Waitlist.

3Eligibility and geographic availability

The Waitlist is for adults aged 18 or over. By joining, you confirm that you are at least 18. One place per person and per email address. Prices are shown in pounds in the UK and in US dollars elsewhere, based on your device's time zone. We do not promise that the App will be available in every country.

4What the Waitlist does

  • holds your place in line and confirms it by email;
  • asks optional questions to help us decide what to build first;
  • tells you when the App opens; and
  • gives the first 1,000 people the founding offer.

5What the Waitlist does not do

Normal is not a hospital, clinic, medical practice or healthcare provider. We do not:

  • diagnose, assess, prescribe or provide clinical care;
  • claim that the App will cure or treat anything; or
  • provide an emergency or crisis service.

General content on this page is not medical advice. If you are struggling, talk to your doctor.

6The founding offer

The first 1,000 people to join, in the order they joined, get their first month of the App free when it launches. After that month, it costs the price shown at the time you subscribe, currently planned at $12.99 a month or $39.99 a year (£9.99 or £34.99 in the UK). You will see the price before you pay, and you can cancel before the free month ends without being charged. The offer is for new subscribers, can't be exchanged for cash, and ends when the 1,000 places are taken. Places counted on this page are real sign-ups; duplicates and test entries don't count.

We may end or change the offer if the App doesn't launch, if we suspect abuse (for example, fake or duplicate sign-ups), or for legal reasons. If we do, we will tell you.

7Your responsibilities

You agree to:

  • give a real email address that belongs to you;
  • join only for yourself, once; and
  • not use the Waitlist to mislead us or anyone else.

8Emergencies and safeguarding

The Waitlist is not monitored as an emergency or crisis service. If you may be in immediate danger or need urgent support, contact the emergency services. In the UK you can call Samaritans on 116 123, and in the US you can call or text 988.

9Website content and third-party links

The App screens and numbers on this page are examples of what we are building, not real users' data. Launch dates, features and prices can change. Third-party links are provided for convenience; their own terms and privacy practices apply.

10Acceptable use

You must not:

  • submit information you know is false, or sign up someone else;
  • create fake or duplicate sign-ups, or abuse referral links;
  • attempt unauthorised access, introduce malware, scrape content, or interfere with security or availability; or
  • harass or abuse anyone.

11Intellectual property

We or our licensors own the page, branding, layout and content. You may not reproduce, adapt, distribute or commercially exploit our content without permission, except where law allows.

12Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal information for the Waitlist. Our Cookie Policy explains the technologies used on this page.

13Emails

By joining, you agree we can email you about your place and the launch. You can unsubscribe at any time.

14Service availability, refusal and suspension

We may change, pause or close the Waitlist, or decline a sign-up, where reasonably necessary for safety, security, legality, suspected misuse or because we decide not to launch. The planned launch date is not guaranteed; if plans change, we will tell you.

15Complaints

For a complaint about the Waitlist, contact us using the details below. We will acknowledge and investigate it within a reasonable time. You keep the right to contact a consumer or data protection authority.

16Our responsibility

We provide the Waitlist free of charge and with reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any mandatory consumer or data protection liability. Subject to those exceptions, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our aggregate liability arising from the Waitlist is limited to [liability cap].

17Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Waitlist, the App, the law or our business. The updated version applies from the effective date shown. We will highlight material changes where reasonably practicable.

19General legal terms

If any provision is unlawful or unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary or treated as deleted; the rest continue. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer your place without our consent. These Terms do not give enforcement rights to anyone who is not a party, except where the law provides otherwise.

20Governing law and courts

These Terms and any non-contractual dispute arising from them are governed by [governing law]. [courts] have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections given by the law of the country in which you habitually reside, and you may bring proceedings in any court that applicable consumer law permits.
